Sumptuous kingfisher colours with the most beautiful styling and elegant backdrop - swoon city!
This shot, right?! Oh sweet wedding Gods, we bow to the genius of James & Kerrie Photography for this one. You can see the whole gallery of their images below, their style is so fresh, it just leaves you feeling uplifted for looking at their work. We got our little mitts on this gorgeous kingfisher inspired styled shoot and we cannot stop looking at it. It's elegant, it's luxurious, it's country, it's everything we love! This stunner of a Cosmobella gown features a detachable tulle skirt so you can amp up the twirl factor on a whim, or let your curves do the talking if you want a sleeker look. It's two dresses in one, it's beautiful in either form, it's a double whammy winner! Exclusively Yours Bridal Boutique have a knack for stocking unique and beautiful wedding dresses in their cosy Blandford boutique. You can find some excellent advice on finding your dream dress from the owner of Exclusively Yours Bridal Boutique at the bottom of this blog so read on down, feast your eyes and drink in this stunner of a shoot.
Browsing (okay, drooling over) these images, we were so impressed with the immense attention to detail in every element of this shoot. Let's start with the cake and dessert table... The biscuits, the mini-cakes, the stunning 3 tier masterpiece. Check out the abstract watercolour painting technique of Little Buttercup Cakery and the subtle gold leaf detailing. I can't get enough of those feathers, and the deckled edge of the top tier. That, my friends, is how you cake.
Those that know the writer, know I could talk stationery until your ears fall off, or you plug them with nothing less than 300gsm paper (I would suggest a silk, slides into the ear canal easier). On this shoot, Pastel Designs have done the most beautiful job of capturing the elegant style, using laid paper, velum and exquisite gold detailing, all paired with a pop of colour with the envelopes. Don't even get me started on the agate place names, sublime doesn't cover it. However, because I'm a massive nerd for this kind of thing, my favourite part was the gold wax seal to the envelope. Perfection.
Flowers! Now, you're not going to miss that massive hydrangea, it is a show stopper and a half but teamed with the delicate blooms and gorgeous trailing ribbons that surround it, the whole bouquet achieves a perfect balance, capturing the colours of the shoot perfectly. Pamplemousse (Flowers by Tidbury at the time of creation) have done such an incredible job of pulling the entire look together, which is what you should expect from your wedding flowers. There are so many intricacies that make up wedding styling but it's your florist that will pull the look together on each of your tables, your ceremony room and on your person.
Let's take a moment to talk about the backdrop of this whole shoot, the stunning Georgian property that is Holbrook Manor. We're very lucky at Lily & Lottie, Holbrook Manor is about 5 minutes from our door and is definitely one of our favourite wedding venues. Holbrook Manor sits just outside of Wincanton, Somerset and is surrounded by 20 acres of stunning lawns, gardens and woodland. The interior is modern and stylish, lending itself perfectly to any colour palette, and as you can see, the exterior is a photographer's dream.
Now, we've waxed lyrical about every aspect of this shoot, but let's not forget the bride! The lovely model was given a radiant glow by Makeup by Becky Flynn, using a bronze eyeshadow and liner for a pop of colour to complement the overall look and enhance the bride's natural beauty. Steph Mcevoy Hair and Make up Artist created the perfect soft and country up-do using multiple braids, twisted up to make for a super romantic look. Tessa's Tiaras absolutely stunning floral themed hair accessory, finished off the bridal styling to perfection. Bringing all of the beautiful colours together in a stylish piece that elevated the entire look.
Thank you so much James & Kerrie for the use of your gorgeous gallery, you can check out even more of their beautiful work in the tiles below. Big love guys!

Trust Your Instincts
Don't worry about anyone else, no one knows you better than you! If you believe you have found the one, then you probably have. If it’s the first dress you’ve tried on and you’re worried that it can’t be the one as there’s so many other dresses and shops to try, the vast majority of the time you will end up going back to that first dress.
On the other hand, if you’re not completely sure about the dress you have picked and feel a little pressured by a family member or consultant (I don’t do the whole hard sell thing! It’s just not me) don’t buy it! It’s not ‘the one’. Never feel like you have to buy a dress just because your mum or your next door neighbours cousin LOVE it. The decision ultimately boils down to you and only you. If your dress isn’t the one, you will look back at your wedding photos for years to come with regret.
Trust your instincts and you will be absolutely fine, I promise A Do-able Budget
This is super important; you need to have an affordable budget in mind before trying on your first dress. It can all end in tears if you fall in love with a dress you can't have – I always ask my brides before their appointment begins, what their budget is to ensure this doesn’t happen on my watch……..
Your dress budget also needs to include alterations. It's very rare to find a dress that needs no alterations at all so bear this in mind when deciding on the amount you're going to spend. Depending on the alterations needed and the dress, the cost varies. Your consultant should be mindful of this when you’re trying on dresses. Try on Different Styles
It's very easy to disregard a dress right away before trying it on because of how it looks on the hanger or it's a style you don't think will suit you, but this is a very common mistake to make if you have never tried on that style before! Your body shape and personality plays a HUGE part in how you'll feel and look in a dress. The majority of brides that come through my door end up leaving with a dress they were originally reluctant to try on.
